About Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometry

At the initiative of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, located in Val-de-Travers, Switzerland, where Ferdinand Berthoud himself was born, transposes into a contemporary watchmaking language the quest for precision initiated by Ferdinand Berthoud (1727 – 1807), Mechanical Watchmaker to the King and the Navy of France.

The design of these timepieces is inspired by marine clocks and other creations by the master watchmaker. The design of these timepieces is inspired by marine clocks and other creations by the master watchmaker.

Only a few dozen of these timepieces are produced each year in the workshops of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud in Fleurier (Switzerland), according to some of the most demanding quality criteria in watchmaking.
